Trees, basket, and projects:)

Hi, I have been a lil busy this week. I have had so much going on, but I didn't want the followers I do have be gone in blogland:) I have had comments about the trees in my header of my blog. YES that is my little brick house, and those trees are mine:) I have had people ask what kind of trees are those, and I only know that the large one in front is a weeping willow tree( I hope that how you spell it) The others I am unsure of. They are sooo beautiful when they bloom, but its is only a few weeks out of the whole year that you get to enjoy it. With the storms that have gone through even less this year, as the blooms are being blown away :( I thought I share some pictures I wish I would have done it sooner because a lot of the blooms are gone.

I also have been working on a few projects, I just finished spray painting the large basket I picked up at a yard sale, I shared those bargains with you on a post awhile back, well I have it painted:) Take a look...

I also started painting my little memo board/chalkboards I am making. I got the yellow paint( from the valspar free sample giveaway on valspar paint) on them and getting ready to paint with the chalkboard paint, and then decorate them. I will have them finished soon so be sure and come back and look at the finish project.

I also picked up this organizer at the same yard sale I got the basket from picture above, well I plan to paint, and use some material to brighten it up and give it a modern/floral look :)

Last but not least I got the coffee table I got from my grandpas house after he passed away of lung cancer in March finished. With the hard work of my helper, my hubby. I so wanted it to turn out nice, I debated on what to paint it, and I am wanting to paint my living room light yellow, and have modern wrought iron and accents of black. So I painted it black, yes black, I thought about it as maybe doing white, but I really won't have any white accents and if I do it would be so minimal. So well it is finished, and I will share it tomorrow, So plese stop by and take a look tomorrow on my blog........As always thanks for following me, and please send a friend:)

Easter Reflection, a Easy cookie recipe:) And Yankee Candle Gift Set!!

Hi Everyone, Happy Good Friday and Easter. What a great time to spend reflecting on our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ:)Greatest man in history, named Jesus, had no servants, yet they called Him Master. Had no degree, yet they called Him Teacher. Had no medicines, yet they called Him Healer. He had no army, yet kings feared Him. He won no military battles, yet He conquered the world. He committed no crime, yet they crucified Him..He was buried in a tomb, yet He lives today.HE LIVES!!!!
I Am glad you stop by today I just wanted to share a quick, easy cookie recipe. They are called cake batter cookies.

TA-DA Easy Recipe for some fast cookies...

I also wanted to share with you something I put together for an upcoming Bridal Shower I am going too. I was trying to think of something I could put together, and came up with a yankee candle basket/box :) I found a cheap on clearence basket for TARGET for under 3.00. Picked up some tissue paper in cold and white I already had. We stopped at the outlet mall where there happens to be a YANKEE candle outlet. I picked up some votives and melts in wedding day scent, smells like a rose, they were 12 for 10.00 mix and match, I bought 8 (4 votives and 4 melts for the bride to be, and 4 other scents 4 me:))They even gave me some ribbon and I asked they said sure and I used it to tie around my basket, well not tie I had to use a lil glue too :) and some really pretty white votive holders that say LOVE all over them for 3.00 a piece. I had a 30% off coupon at KOHLS and they had a yankee wedding type in jar YANKEE candle on markdown,I got it for like 6.00. I did purchase a white melt/oil warmer at the Walmart for 3.00. I put it all together and made a very pretty basket to give to the bride to be.:)

Memo/Cork board I made:)

I recently won some craft items from Elmer's on a fellow blog. I put the items I won to use and made this, Memo/Cork board :) I really had so much fun making it. :) It was a simple craft and easy to make. I used my 2 sided foam board from Elmer's, and picked a bright colorful piece of scrapbook paper. I glued the paper on using the Elmer's Craftbond permanent tape runner, this is AWESOME!!! It is a clear adhesive and works great at holding and sticking. I then measured a piece of cork board square to a size I wanted to put on my board, and cut that out using my Elmers X-ACTO gripster knife to my desired size. I then used more of the permanent tape runner to the back of the cork board and some glue spots from Elmer's and placed the cork board on my papered board. I used my Elmer's painters markers and painted the fronts of 2 clothes pins. I placed them on the board with more permanent tape and glue spots. I attached a ribbon on back, and embellished my board with 2 wooden painted craft flowers. I also had some cute push pins for my cork board so I placed them on. And ta-da it is done!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and as always please follow my blog, and send a friend:)

Trip to Louisville Kentucky

Well this past weekend my family and I went to Thunder Over Louisville, and did some sight seeing. My husband and I lived there for almost 4 years in near by Fort Knox, Kentucky. He was stationed there for several years, but I only got to go to one Thunder Over Louisville, and he has always wanted to take the kids down. So off we went, it was nice but very COLD!!! We went to Fort Knox earlier in the day and showed Austin are son the post where he was born, the Gold Vault, and also went to the Patton Museum. We were kinda bummed because its a close post and we wanted to show Austin the hospital he was born in. O'well we had a good time. We then headed downtown to some of things that were going on, played some free games the had at the festivities downtown, wne a hat, key chain, and other goodies. Then watched the fireworks show, and to the motel to rest are freezing bodies:) Sunday we headed back downtown to see the museum hotel, see the artwork, and go to the Louisville Sluggar Museum, and take the tour. Roy and I never got to go when we lived down there, so it really was neat, I love the tour:) Well for a quick weekend we had fun!! We headed home, and now are kids will have some memories even though it was short, they will remember it I hope. Check out some pictures of some of the sights, and my family. Thanks for stopping by, and as always come back, and send a friend.

Cheap, Cute, Handmade Party Favors!!!

I just love how these lil trinket( party favor) boxes I made out of altoids tin mint boxes turned out. My daughter is using hers to hold her orthodontic rubber bands in. They really are inexpensive to make and are GREAT for birthday party favors, baby showers, and wedding, just use the codinating scrapbooking paper, and ribbon and stickers for your type of party that you may be having. Check out my pictures of the ones I made, its easy to do, and you will love adding your own touches, and even have the kiddos help too:)

I just took any altoids metal mint can cleaned and dried. I cut according to size and cover the areas that you would top, inside, and bottom, with scrapbooking paper.I used different colors designs, and glue the paper you picked out for that area. You can use any scrapbook paper that your theme may be. I made these for my daughter and for my friends daughter so I used flashy color design paper when making. I add ribbon around the whole tin in middle (visiable in picture) cordinate a color of ribbon, then I add stickers where every you want. I also added charmes because I found them cheap at wal-mart on clearence. And there you have it cute little party favor you can make and use afterwards for something else. Thanks for stopping by my blog, please follow along, and send a friend. I Love Having You:)
