Valentine's Day Dance & Big Changes

Well has it ever been a BIG adjustment in the Netting household lately. After long and drawn out conversations and our daughter beggin for change we gave in, for her well being. Our daughter who is in 8th grade, is now transfered to a NEW school. She had had enough with all the things she had going on at her old school. As you all may have recalled from a prevoius post I did, back in November our daughter was rushed by ambulence after being punched and falling on her head, she was out of school for a week, she had such a hard time after all that. She was a honor student, and well loved by all, but bullying got the best of her. Her dad and I said she could transfer. Bullying doesn't mean that you get bullied for not being the picture perfect person. You can be bullied by jelous girls or boys that can get the best of you. I think my daughter is BEAUTIFUL I am her mom so I am gonna say that. In my daughters case I believe girls were just jealous of her and that to is bullying. I know there will be bullying at other schools too, only time will tell, but for now she is HAPPY:) and its nice to see a smile on her face. Do not get me wrong she has some GREAT friends at her old school, and still loves them very much, and will continue to see them. But the fact is people she did not want to see over takes the ones she did want to see, if that makes sence. I am sure we made the right decision, even though were half way through her school year she will be ok, she has always been strong, and she is up for the challenge.:) Make sure you talk to your cildren about bullying, we as parents can help, but it really is a true problem with schools now a days.

On a lighter note my daughter went to a dance at her NEW school Saturday, and here she is all dressed up, she looked so BEAUTIFUL:) Love You JOLI!!!

Valentine's Day Picture-CRAFT

I had this GREAT frame in the basement, and I was trying to come up with an idea to make something for Valentine's Day using it. I don't have alot of Valentine's decor but I have some, and I really loved this frame. So I made something with it. I had some ribbon(bought after Christmas sales), and a glitter piece of scrapbooking paper, and the frame. I only had to buy some 1.97 scrapbooking 3-D stickers. I glued ribbon around the outside of the mat, and placed a piece of black glitter scrapbooking on the back, and attached the stickers. IT was such and easy craft, and looks FANTASTIC on my shelf!! Good Morning!! I am gearing up to putting a few of the Valentine's Decor I have up today. I just LOVE Valentine's Day. I enjoy doing up the the house, and surprising my hubby and kids with surprises. I enjoy seein the kids faces even though they are teens now, I think they like it. I am not sure what I will do this year, as my son has a basketball game on Valentine's Day, insert sad face:(...lol... I am still thinking of decorating the house up like I do and maybe have a special breakfast this year, instead of dinner. I love the simple things you can do to show your LOVE. Teens and Boyfriends and Girlfriends

I have 2 teenage kids as you all know, Austin is soon to be 16 in a few months and Joli soon to be 14 shortly. Austin is in 10th grade, Joli is in 8th. Well lately we have been coming across the issue of the boyfriend and girlfriend whole ordeal. Well I believe hanging with a group of friends and doing things as a couples is ok(supervised). I am sure I will get back lash on this issue, which I hope I don't. My daughter Joli is currently using the word boyfriend with her new guy friend and it bothers her dad and I a little, but we also know that she is a teen and that word is often thrown around. My son has had girlfriend here and there none really serious and none were he used the word regularly, and his main focus is sports,lol...go figure. However Joli is at the stage were she uses the word boyfriend. She's almost 14 but we think she uses the word to loosely, with Not a real understanding of the word ,because of her age.. Well, we want her to have boys as friends and with boyfriends comes drama and teen issues clearly NO parent wants to face those issues. At the same time I want her to understand that her dad and I care for her and know that she may really LIKE a boy, but do you have to call him your boyfriend? At her age..........it seems that meetin up with a boy at the movies is fine now a days, and back in my day ......it was a NO NO,LOL......, now teens are meetin up at movies, bowling, and skating rinks, and other places, as couples. We allow Joli to attend things like these with other friends, and yes even with boys, as long as theres a group, to some that may be wrong???? We are parents that believe in TRUST, and Joli has NEVER broken are trust, and the only real issue right now with her is the BOYFRIEND word, and its meaning. That being said, we allow her freind(aka) to come over to our home, eat pizza, watch movies, and hang out with her, completely supervised!!! So in a way I told my husband maybe we are promoting in a way that the boyfriend word we so do not like is, is ok with the actions we are allowing to go on, with the issues of doing bowling, movies, allowing him over, and so on. This is a strong issue for me, and I have had to deal with it so much with my daughter, and what we believe and she believes, and we know how she feels, but in the same time we know how we feel, and I am sure many of you are saying well you are the adult, just say NO, well really why??....She has almost a 4.0 GPA, is active with youth and attends church and is really a well behaved daughter, helps, loving, and very caring, and very trustworthy. I believe and my hubby slightly does, that the meaning will come more clearer to her as she grow and matures threw growing up, and my husband also says, really Michelle, we have guided her who she is now, and we have FAITH she will always do whats the right thing. I could go on and on on this issue, I just needed to clear my head a little, and ramble, and boy did I...lol...well, I am sure we all have mixed feelings about this issue, and I hope I can understand that her word BOYFRIEND is not the end of the world I guess.........................Just a Word that to parents seems like the end of the world......

Valentine Centerpieces- Cheap and Easy

I recently bought some crafting items from the Dollar Tree and made some nice affordable decorative Valentine's Day items. I made these centerpieces from some beautiful roses they just got them in, and I went back a few days later because I was going to get more to use on a wreath, and they were gone..........:( I am glad though I got some when I did. I only have 6 dollars in both centerpieces, and I say thats a pretty good bargain myself, flowers and vases were all a buck each, and I had the heart sticks to stick in left over from another project I did the cupcake liner heart trees check those out in a previous post. All items were bought from Dollar Tree. I love that store:)

Valentine Cupcake Liner Trees-Cute Craft!!!

I just made the cutest craft I wanted to share with you, it was really cheap, and easy to make. I got all the items at the Dollar Tree, and was less than 5 dollars to make 2. I bought 2 styofoam cones, 2 different color design cupcake liners and they came with heart toppers that I use to stick in the styrofoam trees. I also got some heart sticks and use them to stick down inside the trees. This is an Easy craft, and my daughter help me make them, she made 1, I made 1. We shared the glue gun I think I am gonna invest in getting her her own glue gun, she likes makin crafts too. The trees are easy to make and here is the details.....
Take the cupcake liners and cut the center of the liner out, it will leave the edge that is rippled and glue around the tree, you may have to add another liner according to the size of the cone, cut to desired length.
I used 2 different design liners to make it have a little different layer look, you can use 1 design if thats all you have, or more than 2 like I had. I bet more liners to use the more it will stand out. The Dollar Tree didn't have a whole lot to choose from. Glue the liners rotating the design up the tree until you reach the top. Then add the picks I used the ones that came with the cupcake liners. I got both of in a set for a $1.00. I took 1 of the large heart sticks and stuck in the top of the tree. That is it really simple, and they really are cute, and you can make any design for any occassion. Take a look at my pictures. I also made some cute centerpieces for Valentine's Day decor. New Years Resloultion

Hi everyone, hope you Holidays were all Wonderful. I know mine were fabulous. I had a busy month in December, lots of ups and downs, and not up to par on my posting....lol... I was havin a rough month and it really showed, in lack of posts, and I feel bummed for that. I really was hoping to share and do much more posting iin December and actually it was my worst month for non posting ever:( I have though set forth 1 of my new years resolutions to be more active on my blog. More post, more ideas, and most of all more of all of you. I really want to get to know more fellow bloggers, and hope they will me too. :)

I have lots of other resolutions too----they are--- read the bible more, lose 15 pounds, spend more time with my hubby(really lacking in this department, as he is hardly ever home work related) be more active at church, spend more time with my teenage kids-thats hard too cause its just not cool to hang with mom much when your a teen. I hope I can KEEP all my New Years Resolutions. I am excited for what the New Year will bring, and I am Blessed for last year, and Super Blessed to have another year to be able to enjoy LIFE:)

Christmas meaning-from a 13 year old:)

I am Happy the Holidays are over, well almost, the next few days will be unwinding as a we wind down from the Holidays:) Well, my hubby had to be back to work today so he gets No real time to wind down, back to 6 day work weeks and 10-12 hour days:(.... I wanted to share a quick story about something my daughter told me. She got tons of presents, cds, perfume, purse, so on so on,stereo system,curlers.........on and on..... She told me that her favorite gift of all was not all she got from everyone material wise, her favorite gift was that that was given to her by her great-grandma who is over 80 years old, a beautiful blanket with her name, school name, and graduation date. She tells her that even if she does not make it too graduation she will have somethin from her, and Joli is the most soft hearted lil gal, and takes right after the sweetest lady I have ever been blessed to have known, my hubby;s grandma. She loves everyone, she(my daughter) made it known that is the best gift ever!!! She shared it to her friends on facebook, verbally to other loved ones. It's not often when a teenager can bring a dose of reality to an adult but that was a definate one for me. We are Christians and believe in giving, and Jesus is the true meaning of Christmas, I think he uses Children as gifts to many to learn from even at their young age. I believe that in so many ways..........I Love that the Lord has blessed me with SO much, and that my daughter can bring a dose of reality to me, its not material things that matter, its all about love<3 SOMETIMES in the present bought world we live in material things for show are what makes people happy, look at my ring, my laptop, my north face coat, my new shoes, louis vuitton purse......so on so on............. I am glad that I have raised my daughter to know what is really meaningful. I thank you Lord for sending her to me, and I thank you for all that I have been given, and for always finding away to make sure that I know you are around(in this case I believe it was the message sent through my daughter ) I thank you all for stopping at my blog today, and hope you understand my lil message I received from my daughter, and sometimes I could use a reality check in this department, material things don't matter...... and I got your message Lord........ It's Love.........

Missing In Action!! Giveaway Winner!!

I had to take a break from blogging for so many reasons. I am gonna try and get back to it becasue I sure miss it. Its been a long few weeks since my last post, round of flu in our house hold, sons basketball games, searching for a new car, and so much here and there. I also have been havin alot of problems hurting in my back, and I finally just made a doctors appointment for it, and it is Monday of next week. After almost 2 years of not going to the doctors. I finally picked up the phone and made an appointment, thats how bad my back pain is and it hurts:( I am really excited for the Holidays, I would like to post some pictures to share my Holiday decor and tree with you all. I think I will take some pictures today and get that up tomorrow. I am hoping to make a few of my cookie recipes and peanut butter fudge for the Holidays if I can because of my back. Busy As A Elf....Holidays, Black Friday, TWO TEENS........

The title is not quite true as I have been busy,but am NO elf...lol...the holidays seem to do that to us all. I was happy to spend Thanksgiving with my family, and my cousin Nate was here from Calafornia too. Basketball season is officially beginning my son is in 10th grade and plays on the High School JV team, and they have started with the scrimmages, and official first game is this Friday. Excited to see him play, he loves basketball. My daughter has a boyfirend now...lol... at 13 and half ...don't know where her and her boyfriend are gonna go...they are 13 and maybe a bike ride...lol... Young teens use the term dating ...but shes is not dating...lol...too young. With her going through the boy thing, and my son into basketball and runnin, plus the Holiday last week, threw me off from any posts. I believe there should be a show called life as a teenage mom :) I am happy to say I did get my decorating started and will post some pictures of that tomorrow.I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday. I know I did. And a busy Black Friday too, yes I was one of those silly people that stay out all night and morning to get the best deals. I had my hubby, daughter, and son help out too, but they were done after the midnight sales. I took them home rested for about 2 hours than off again I went. Crazy huh???lol...I made a Great recipe for a new dessert called Pumpkin Crunch...it was really delicious. Christmas window redo-Cheap decorative idea

I decided to attempt to make something out of an old white wood window. I have had the wood window and used up some old white paint left from a free sample from Lowes giveaway a long while back. The window glass were already out when I got this so I just painted it, take note I am not the greatest painter...lol.... and added a wreath and took some ribbon I bought last year at an after Christmas sale, I buy tons on ribbon when it is 75% off for Christmas wrapping for the next year and for craft ideas I may have. I did buy the wreath for 4.97 and placed some bulbs on the wreath, and hung from the wondow pane I stapled, the bow and made it have a long attachment to the back of the window so that is would lay lower on the window. Ta-Da it is done, really Cheap decorative idea for Christmas if you have any old wood windows you can find. Mine was free and I was happy to have gotten it:)I am glad I came up with something so use it for. I hope you like....to the pictures.........

Cute Craft Finds/Bazaars/Holidays

I just had to share the items I got this weekend at a craft show here near my home in Ohio. I love going to all the local craft shows around the area. I like to see all the new ideas, and of course buy some goodies too. Here is what I bought, I can't wait to get my house decorated for the Holidays... I just love the Holidays.....

I also got the cutest handmade clay snowmen, there was a variety of them, all were unique all had their own personalities. I chose the basketball-for my son, and a volleyball snowman- for my daughter to put on the tree. I always buy these every year off of a woman I know at the craft shows, I have a football one, lil baby ones, all they are sooo cute...

Veterans Day Poem+Flag Cake

What a GREAT Day today is. A day to celebrate Veterans on this Veterans Day. I am so thankful to live in a country so freely as we do in the United States, and for ever grateful to have had so many men and women fall to their death so that I may live so freely, it is a BLESSING for myself and us all. My husband is a Us Army Veteran he served 5 years active duty and 2 years National Guard. I served as a military wife for several years, and let me tell you the wives and husbands are just so precious to me, they sacrifice so much to maintain all on the home front while there love one is away. I did this so often when my hubby served too. It really is hard to be separated from your spouse and to worry about them. I commend all military families!!! I THANK all serving now, and in the past, soilders who have gone to heaven to be with Our Lord as a fallen HERO, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.We have so many friends, family members who have served, along with my husband too, grandfathers, cousins, uncles, and brothers. It is so GREAT that OUR country Honor all VETERANS it really is as the song says Land Of The Free And Home Of The Brave. I wanted to share this poem I found with you all,some one like you or I wrote this from their HEART..Please read over it.......let it really sink into what a Veteran is.....

I also wanted to share a flag cake that I have made and shared here on my blog before....ENJOY...........Flag Jello Cake1 box yellow cake mix(make cake mix according to the package)after cake is cooled poke several holes in it using a forkTake one small package of jello mix and make it according to the box( you may use any flavor, but I used strawberry to go with the stawberries on the theme of my cake)pour liguid jello mixture over cakethen place in fridge for a few hoursadd almost 1 tub of cool whip( depending on how thick you want the cool whip on your cake)add fresh fruit in my case strawberries and blueberries I made in a flag design this time but I usually just add strawberries on top or blueberries any fruit that goes with your jello flavoring would be the bestbe sure to leave your cake in the fridge keep it cool when not eating:)All this is great cake, hope you enjoy:)YUMMY!!!

Bullying In Schools-Last week was the WORST week ever for me........

I was hoping to have my giveaway up for this month a $15 Target gift card, and a Chritmas goodie surprise. I wanted to have it up on the 1st but that was not gonna happen, and after a long week last week, it will be up tomoroow the giveaway that is. I wanted to tell briefly why I have been missing all last week. I got a call last Tuesday that my daughter had been punched in the face and in the head several times, and an ambulance was on there way to get her and meet them at the hospital. You see she had passed out, and awoke to massive blood she was spitting out of her mouth as she was gagging on it, laying on the floor in the hall ways. I called my husband immediately from my cell phone, he happened to be on a job sight near my daughters school and rushed there.He got there to be with her and ride in the ambulance he said he had never seen anything so bad:( She ended up getting cat scan of her head and jaw, and had a minor head injury and her jaw was not dislocated thank goodness but was swollen. She missed all last week of school and was wrote off from the hospital. She is really a GREAT kid!!! She is an 8th grader, and just got all A's on her report card, never been in trouble, and luvs school and a people person. So to hear she got upset and got beat up it was a total SHOCK!!! I later found out that the girl who hit her was wanting a chair that Joli my daughters friend was sitting in, and my daughter said its a chair, and even one of the girls went and got her another one. Well she wasn't having it and wanted that chair, so my daughter told her friends lets just let her have it and they left and went to another table. Later in the hall way the fight took place, and this girl is known to be a bully, and has been in trouble for other things at school. The whole ordeal has made me realize even though I have had issues with my son and bullying in the past, he dealt with it held his own, my daughter on the other hand is so laid back does not stick up for herself, and I think that makes her an easy target for bullying. I was not all pleased about the schools handeling of the fight, as students broke up the fight, and it wasn't untill my daughter got up and walked a few steps and collapsed and black out that teachers rushed to her side, and teachers were not located in the hallway and the superintendent assured me that he had told teachers previuosly that teachers need to stand outside their classrooms while kids are changing classes as fights are often started in hallways. My daughter was seriously hurt from bullying, I think the girl was just jealous of her, and I believe some kids are meant to be just plain mean, and there is no help for them!!! I could go on and on, but I will not be doing that today. I am happy my daughter went back to school today. She received so much love and support while she was recovering, I think she is traumatized by the whole ordeal, and I really seen her never be as sad and depressed as she has been these last few days. We went to church yesterday and I think that really cheered her up, being in the Lords house is always a GREAT place to be:) I just hope that sharing my story will tell you a little bit about bullying from a parent, a story I hope NONE of you ever have to deal with. It breaks a parents heart, and really devastates all children that are bullied!!! Please come back tomorrow for my giveaway.... Halloween Cupcakes & Finished Costume Followup

We were invited to a Halloween party at my friends house last night. I made some cupcakes to take to the party. Simple cute cupcakes I think for Halloween. Just a devils food chocolate cake mix(bake according to directions). I then used black gel icing to write RIP on some milano cookies, great cookies for the tombstones I needed, and pushed the cookies down into the cupcakes. I crushed some chocolate oreo cookies, and sprinkled on top the iced cupcakes. I also added lil candy pumpkins to the cupcakes too. Really a simple lil project for Halloween. Halloween Party From The Past

Last year for Halloween I allowed my daughter to have a HALLOWEEN party, and with the economy and all last year, I told her we would have one but we would have to have a reasonable limit and stick to it. She really wanted to have another one this year, but we were unable to. I am happy to show you some of the party highlights from last year, alot of the props were purchased at Dollar Zone a Dollar store we had in our area. Also from Dollar General, all paper plate, napkins were from Dollar Tree and we had a cake made with a hand coming out of the ground you gotta see that!!! We made a great lil party, had hot dogs we roasted, and chips, and orange sherbert punch, which was AWESOME!!! All the girls got a pumpkin to decorate which was bought at pumpkin patch for 2 dollars each, can't complain:) Candy and the cutest handmade treat bags made from paper brown bags with some material glued onto the small bags were made and each gal got to fill her bag with candy from our lil candy buffet we had, so each girl took home their pumpkin they painted and their candy bags.We came up with some fun games too. I had a special prize for the best dressed costume too:) I have to admit last years sure was FUN!!!!

Handmade Halloween Costume(The Start)

Hi everyone, I thought I share the start of the costumes I am makin for my husband and I for a costume party we got invited to Saturday. With money always tight in our home I was trying to think of something we could be for this party, without breaking the bank:) I researched and came up with an idea for him to be Burger King, and I am Dairy Queen...lol...funny idea, but really inexpensive. I got 2 crowns one is already done from Burger King the other I wrapped with aluminum foil and added the DQ logo and some sparkle gel glue to appear as gems. Burger King gave me a few bags, fry boxes ,and the crowns, and DQ did too, so I have the items for free. The necklaces are to look like the big brooch necklaces that a king and queen wear, well I just cut out pictures from the bags and cups that were givin to me. The crowns are not done yet, I have to attach the mini whoppers on my husbands crown, and the mini ice cream cones from my crown. We will use robes, as are attire, with some fancy logos on them. Finishing up the crowns tonight, and printing out some large logos for the robes. I just wanted to share a little of what I got done last night. I really like the idea, and the non-cost to it, and I can't see buying a costume that you wear once. Just a sneak peak here are a few pictures... What are you going to be for Halloween?? Stuffed Pepper Soup

I made a new soup over the weekend, called stuffed pepper soup, taste just like stuffed peppers:) YUMMY!!! Thought I share the recipe with you all.1 lb ground beef(brown and drained)..I use about a pound and a half in my soup we like hamburger...4-6 cups of green peppers(3 really large peppers)28oz canned diced tomatoes28oz can of tomatoe sauce2 cups water1/2 cup of brown sugar1 and 1/2 cups of cooked rice( I use minute rice)2 teaspoon of salt1/2 teaspoon pepper...mix all ingredients in crockpot EXCEPT the rice......Cover and cook in crockpot for 4 hours in crock pot I would cook at least 2 hours on high so that peppers are nice and soft and cooked throughly...After peppers are cooked add rice and continue to cook on high for 20-30 minutes longer...recipe could be made on stovetop; cook for around 50 minutes add rice and cook an additional 10 minutesAll Done it was a big hit at our house this weekend. We had family over and it makes a ton of soup, feed all are guest and we had left over for the next day........ Here is a few pictures of me and the soup......

Cheap Halloween Pictures

I took some ugly print pictures I got on clearence for .99 cents and decided to turn them into some cheap Halloween Pictures. I had everything on hand, and thought why not....I painted the 2 pictures a black, which I always seem to have black paint on hand:) I had to put several coats of paint on to cover the print on the picture, and let dry and just placed some Halloween scrapbooking pictures stickers all over the painted prints. I am NOT one to spend a lot of money , tight budget over at this bloggers home, but I managed to try and come up with something to make:) I know its not that fancy, but it is 1 up from that .......CHEAP........lol.... well thought I share have a wonderful day. Halloween Handmade Treat Bags

I was thinking of something to put and share on my blog, I try to come up with inexpensive ideas, or post that are simple when it comes to the crafting and cooking department. I decided to share these cute lil inexpensive treat bags. They are small brown bags you can find at any craft store, I added a self stick double sided sticker to seal the bag, you really do NOT need to add the sticker,you could just fold them, and they would be just fine. I cut along the top of the bag with my scrapbooking fancy scissors, and then take a piece of any material and cut into pieces I used a Halloween print for these bags, but you could use any print for any party:) Glue your material you cut out and place on the bag, and they are DONE! A really cheap, handmade treat bag,I thought I would share to my bloggin friends.....Take A look at the pictures.

Ghost Craft!! Cute, Easy Ghost To Make.....

I made this cute lil ghost from some tea-stained cheese cloth. I took a section of cheese cloth and put it in a sauce pan with tea. I let it soak, and removed and let dry out. I then took a small styrofoam ball and a long slim stick pushes the stick into the ball. I put a lil brown paint on my stick or you could use stain, and smear the paint around on the stick(use a glove)let dry :) I took the tea stained cheese cloth and placed over the ball and stick, and tied with a piece of twine. I then took a black magic marker and drew the face, and made a lil BOO sign out of a pice of muslin, you could use a brown bag and cut out a small piece for the BOO sign too, and safety pin it on to the ghost, and he is now done. A really cute primitive looking ghost, really inexpensive to make, and looks great stuck in your fall mums, or in any of your Halloween decor:)Hope you like here are the pictures:)

Pumpkin Picture

I had an old picture with a really not so pretty picture on it, so I was trying to come up with an idea to use what I have and make something for Halloween, so I came up with a pumpkin picture, from some black glitter paint and left over orange srpay paint from a sign my kids made, as their school colors are orange and brown, Go Colts:) Anyways I spray painted the old picture orange, and found a stencil there are tons of free stencils available online. And painted the pumpkin on and the glitter paint wasn't the greatest but it sure did look pretty with the sparkle it gave from the black paint, and last but not least I took a black spider and placed using glue spots onto the picture too. Not bad and didn't cost anything really, lil time, and left over supplies. Thanks for stopping by, and please follow along. I enjoy havin you all:)

I went by the Dollar Tree the other day, and came across these cute lil Halloween Decor items. They were already pre-glittered,scary, and were only a buck! Similiar ones sell for a lot more at larger stores. And if you were to make them buying the skeleton, skulls, glitter, brushes would be a lot more than 3.00:) I just thought I share, I thought they were a GREAT deal and I love DEALS!!! I recently took advantage of some Great coupons. I went to WalMart remember WalMart allows for overages on coupons:) and purchased all these goodies for .27 cents. I got 4 packs disposable razors, and used the 6.00 off 2 packs so the razors were 1.97 a pack, and I used my coupons from coupons.com that were floating all around late last week, and printed 2 coupons out as thats all your allowed. and had a $4.04 overage from the 4 packs razors. Then I had coupons for 75 cents off 2 powerades, I had 4 coupons for those, and they are 78 cents at Wal Mart, but our local grocery store had them on sale for 5/3.00 which makes them 60 cents each, and I used my coupons off 2 and I only paid 45 cents for each set of 2 WOW!!!! 2 powerades for 45 cents. I really didn't even pay for them at all if you figure I still had a $4.04 overage from the razors. I used my coupon for my free hershey candy bar that came in the mail. I also had 2 coupons for 5.00 off the hydro razor. I could print 2 coupons from coupon.com, and the razors were 5.47 a piece, so I only paid .47 cents for each hydro razor. After all my overages and coupons I spent .27 CENTS!!! YES!!! Now thats is why I so love coupons!!!!!

Halloween/Fall Decorating Around My Home

I worked on trying to get some of my Fall/ Halloween decorations items out. I do not have some of my Halloween items up as of yet, but anything fall related I do have up. A GREAT time at BACKWOODS FEST!!! Picture Overload....

Well it sure was a great weekend and a great time at the Backwoods Festival located in Thornville, Ohio. My mom,hubby's aunt, his cousin, and I all went to the Backwoods Festival. It was soooo much fun!!! All the good food, crafts, music, was all WONDERFUL!! Great demonstrations too-making of wooden spoons, brooms, with your option to buy one too. I saw so many handmade items- ornaments, candles, wood crafts, pictures,so on.......... I bought a few things including the scarecrow you will see in my pictures below. I have to admit I stopped at the candy booth, cookie booth, and sure had some wonderful sweet treats. Not good on the weight area but really good in my belly:) We listen to some great music, including a couple young kids playing their banjos, and a very talented man playing flute type music from handmade instruments he makes. Their was great food too, handmade vegetable soup in fresh made bread bowls( the soup was made over open fire), fried green tomatoes, handmade root beer floats, calzones, fried bologna and eggs and potatoes, cream puffs, fish, you name it I bet the had it:)Ready for next year!!! Well I just wanted to share some pictures with you from the festival.....and thanks for stopping by......

New Shoe Rack, For All Our Shoes= Happy Mom:)

I was getting so upset with the ever mounting lot of shoes our family has. MOST are my teenage daughters shoes! I got tired of tripping on shoes, the way they just laid around on the floor all scattered. So I began looking for a shoe rack. Something nice and not to Cheap looking, and BUDGET friendly. I looked and looked and they had the wire white ones, the tacky over the door ones, that never seem to hold up I have tried them before, shoe boxes, and white particle looking wood storage racks. Well I came across this one and from the options I had to choose from, I actually liked this one. It is a brown frame with a light brown material, that is easy to assemble and really fits into modern day decor. I like the material and the colors, and it is different than the old same ole same ole type shoe rack. But I needed SOMETHING and on the CHEAP. This was 23.99 I believe and I got it from Wal Mart. Trust me I had seen others I liked in magazines and online but way out of my PRICE range. So I settled for this, and I put my Thirtyone items on top the rack for storage, and its colors match into the colors of the shoe rack. So I am a HAPPY MOM right now, NO more shoes everywhere just in the rack. Homemade Cheesy Sourcream Potatoes. YUMMY!!!

I wanted to share a recipe for some homemade chessy sourcream potatoes. I made my family this weekend, and they are a big hit at our home, and family get togethers. My family always ask me to make them. I quess thats a good thing:) They are all wanting me to make my Reeses's Peanut Butter fudge too. I got a few hints thrown about making some of that too:) This potatoe recipe is a lil time consuming and Very fattening ...lol... All that cheese and sour cream:) Here is the recipe I like to make a large batch....5 lb bag of potatoes2 cans cream of chicken soup1 cup milk2 cups mild cheddar cheese2 cups sour cream......First cut and dice your potatoes and boil, boil untill softened not falling apart because I bake them a lil too.... During the boiling process of your potaotes take a medium saucepan and add the 2 cans of cream of chicken soup, 2 cups mild cheddar cheese, and 1 cup milk....Mix all together untill it becomes a cream mixture and then add 1 cup sour cream and mix real well, and them add the second 1 cup of sour cream...Mix untill all blended.... Take and put softened potatoes in large glass pan, spread out... then pour cream mixture over top of poatoes, cook in oven at 350 for like 20 minutes, untill the potatoes are nice and soft, and mixture blends into potaotes...Remove from oven, stir...... Then let cool, and ENJOY:)!!!!

Country Living Festival in Columbus Ohio, and the annual Backwoods Festival. LOVE THEM!!!

Well one of the favorite time of the year is approaching for me. The annual Country Living Fair in Columbus,Ohio,and the annual Backwoods Festival, in Thornville, Ohio. They both fall on the same weekend this year. I am gonna go to the Backwoods Festival on Friday the 16th, and go to the Country Living Fair on the 17th, boy am I looking forward to that weekend,crafts galore,all kinds of decoratin styles will be available to buy, great food, live music, it is so much fun. Yard Sale goodies I found today, and upcoming giveaway!!

Hi everyone, just thought I show you some cute lil goodies I got at yard sales today. The sales are starting to slow down now that school has started which makes me sad:( I have not shared this yet but I am sooo wanting to move away from the town I live in, I wish we could wave a magic wand and move somewhere else. I am not talking far away just within 15-20 minutes from where we are now, out of town maybe, just not to keen on this school district and this town anymore. I know now is not the time to sell, but its a time to buy with interest rates extremely low, maybe rent this house out try and keep it and get another, who knows, I just know I want out of here BIG time!!! Well enough about my lil rant...lol... I also wanted to tell you starting September 1st. I recently ordered the special for the day at Vista and I got the cutest bag ever. It is my very own Blog Bag:) It has my blog name and url to my blog, and a cute lil picture on both sides of the bag. It was 10.00 and change, and that included shipping. I have been wanting a blog bag with my name on it to carry. They are between 35.00-45.00 dollars not including shipping at some etsy shops. Its not as detailed as some of the other bags on etsy, but it is JUST PERFECT for me. I really like it, and it fit into my budget:) Take a look it is CUTE!!!:)

Hello, its been a busy week around our household. I have been cleaning and organizing now that the kids are back in school. I threw out a mountain of papers and shredded a bunch more. Cleaning out closets of the kids clothes they DO NOT wear but insist on keeping. I am gathering more and more each day. Looking forward to a yard sale in the next month so I can get rid of all the jeans I have cleaned out of closets, and shirts too. I for some reason have been on a cleaning mode this week, bored maybe being here at the house with no teens, who knows, but it is lookin good around the house:) I just wanted to share a recipe with you all Homemade Baked Corn. It is easy and makes for a great side dish, or to take to a pot luck. Baked Corn 1 can regular corn 1 can creamy style corn 1 box jiffy corn muffin bread Mix 1 cup sour cream 2 eggs 1/2 cup butter melted 1 tablespoon of sugar Mix together and place in circular glass cassarole dish Bake at 350 for and hour and 10 minutes Well off to clean some more...lol....I am on a roll......Have A Great Day!!!

Well, it was back to school for my 2 teens today. My son started 10th grade, my daughter started 8th grade. I can't believe how big they are getting, the time has flown by so quickly:(Here they are on their first day of school...

My handsome son and Beautiful daughter Well I also wanted to share the recipe of Roy(my hubby)80 year old grandmas iced thumbprint cookies the ones she make for me for my Birthday the ones I LOVE soooo much:) Homemade Thumbprint Iced Cookies Make 3 dozen 1 cup crisco 1/2 cup brown sugar 2 cups flour 2 egg yolks 1 teaspoon vanilla 1/2 teaspoon salt mix well with electric mixer after mixed well let dough sit up for about a half an hour then roll into 1 inch balls place on UNGREASED cookie sheet(place thumbprint in cookie) Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes till lightly brown on bottom Icing for thumbprint cookies 2 cups powdered sugar half a stick oleo (Blue Bonnett or Impereal) are the ones she uses 1 teaspoon vanilla 2 tablesspoons of milk MIX WELL WITH MIXER!!! separate icing into individual bowls add food coloring to make your desired colors These cookies are soooo YUMMY!!! Good morning everyone!! Well I had a GREAT birthday, family, friends, cake ice cream, and so much LOVE:) I first would like to thank all who entered and won prizes in my Birthday Bash giveaway all last week. Some great prizes were given away, Vera Bradley Bag, Thirtyone Bag, movies, Victoria Secret, candles, book, Purex, and a gift card. It sure was a GREAT party and glad to have given away some great prizes to my fellow bloggers. THANK YOU all for your kind words and for following and supporting my blog, couldn't ask for a better present:) On Saturday I awoke to some beautiful flowers, thanks to my hubby. I also received a new can opener,lol... yes a can opener...lol...silly I know but I had been complaining about my old can opener never working, so I finally got a new one, a nice one at that. I got so many nice things and food(sweets) Yum Yum. My teenage kids blessed me with a beautiful Willow Tree Angel, as they are something I love and recently started to collect. I got a pretty willow tree table runner too. Thanks kids! My brother and his girlfriend got me another beautiful Willow Tree angel, and a Crossroads large jar candle. If you want a AWESOME candle get a Crossroads!! MY parents gave me 50 bucks, and lets say I have been eyeing a few new shirts I LOVE to have, and now with the extra money I can get them:) I got lil goodies too lotto tickets, which I am happy to say I won 6.00:)..lol... I also got my favorite cookies from my husbands grandmother shes 80 and made me some of her homemade tea cookies with homemade icing. I LOVE THEM!!! I will share the recipe in a post tomorrow. I had a wonderful Birthday. I even got my husband, teen kids, and they watched my favorite cartoon when I was younger that is now a movie, THE SMURFS with me:) I loved it I love that cartoon growing up, and I got to see the movie on my Birthday on Saturday. Had a nice family dinner out. We had cake, and cake, and more cake.lol.... I had a great Birthday, I love all my family and friends soooooooooo much Another year older and another year I have been BLESSED!!!

Good evening or night shall I say, well I had a FANTASTIC Birthday!! I awoke to flowers they were so pretty. The beauty of small islands. A nice vacation:)

Our family recently went to 2 islands off Port Clinton/Catawaba Island area. We hopped a boat and went to Put In Bay one day and Kelley's Island the next. It was a nice little getaway EXPENSIVE but nice. It was round trip close to 100 dollars to get there and back to each Island, close to 200 hundred dollars and we haden't even done anything. Golf Cart rentals were 50 each day so theres another 100 dollars. However I highly recommend the golf carts to use on the island, makes things and getting around so much easier, we took in the sights, swam on the islands, ate great food, and shared many laughs including several about my husband driving the golf cart and trying to look at things at the same time:)lol... We really had a great time are teen kids loved it, we went to the glaciar groves, winery, visited the local islands history spots, toured some underground caves. It was a lot of fun. I found this lil chair at a garage sale for a 1.00 and thought to myself a fresh coat of paint and new material for the seat cushions would make this chair have a new look, perfect for my daughters room. My mother in law recently bought my daughter new bedding, and curtains, and this chair will match right in with her new items. Here is a new recipe I found and tried. It was so good, and my family loved it.:)I will be leaving tomorrow for vacation, and be back just in time to share about my prizes for the Christmas in July giveaway coming up next week. Bacon & Egg Hashbrown Cassarole

Ingredients
12 eggs
1 cup of shredded cheese
3 cups of shredded hash browns
1 can of crescent roll dough
6 slices of bacon (more if you are a bacon freak like me)
optional: other toppings: veggies, other meats, cheeses, mushrooms etc.
salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
1.Fry up bacon and place on a paper towel to drain.
2.Roll out the crescent roll dough into a greased casserole dish.
3.Spread shredded hash browns on top of the dough.
4.Beat eggs in a bowl, salt and pepper to taste, and spread over the hash browns.
5.Crumble up bacon and sprinkle the bacon bits over the eggs.
6.Bake in oven at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes.
7.Remove casserole from oven and sprinkle cheese on top.
8.Place back in oven just until cheese melts.
9.Serve warm with toast

Easy 3 ingredient peanut butter fudge balls&bars Yummy!!!
I make these all the time for the kids easy peanut butter fudge balls&bars:) They only require 3 ingredients and so simple to make I have made them for years. They were my late grandpas favorite. I use to make them for him he just loved them, he was a peanut butter LOVER:)I miss him so much, he has been gone almost 3 months now, and it seems to be getting easier but he is still always thought of, and I have him tucked away here in my heart. The recipe is as follows..

2 sticks of butter- I use blue bonnett,its my favorite for baking
3/4 a jar of peanut butter-jif is my next favorite
and a pound of powdered sugar(slightly more if needed)
I put the butter and peanut butter in large pan and stir until completely liquid form and o let me tell you the smell.. YUMMY:)
allow to boil when I say boil I mean it will start to pop and be careful it will pop peanut butter on you sometimes..lol..
I stir and let it slightly pop(aka slightly pop boil)
remove from heat and add the pound of powder sugar slightly over if needed it will look someone like a peanut butter cookie recipe after stir with powdered sugar
MAKE INTO BALLS OR POUR INTO SMALL PAN TO MAKE BARS
IT IS VERY GREASY LOOKING!!!THATS FROM THE BUTTER AND PEANUT BUTTER MIXING TOGETHER, HEY ITS FATTENING SO THAT GREASY LOOK GOES AWAY AS SOON AS YOU LET IT SET UP IN FRIDGE FOR AN HOUR OR LIL LONGER!!
after the are firm, the greasy look will be gone after they harden, remove from fridge. Place semi sweet mini chocolate chips in a bowl and melt in microwave untill completely melted and add chocolate drizzles on the balls and bars, I added drizzle on my balls and a chocolate layer on top my bars.
put back in fridge to harden chocolate and ta-da it is done, an easy 3 ingredient peanut butter idea, NOW I AM SURE YOU WILL SAY THIS IS A 4 INGREDIENT THAT IS IF YOU DECIDE TO ADD THE CHOCOLATE, AND THAT IS UP TO YOU:)

Flag Jello Cake

1 box yellow cake mix(make cake mix according to the package)
after cake is cooled poke several holes in it using a fork
Take one small package of jello mix and make it according to the box( you may use any flavor, but I used strawberry to go with the stawberries on the theme of my cake)
pour liguid jello mixture over cake
then place in fridge for a few hours
add almost 1 tub of cool whip( depending on how thick you want the cool whip on your cake)
add fresh fruit in my case strawberries and blueberries I made in a flag design this time but I usually just add strawberries on top or blueberries any fruit that goes with your jello flavoring would be the best
be sure to leave your cake in the fridge keep it cool when not eating:)
All this is great cake, hope you enjoy:)YUMMY!!!

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread
3 large bananas smashed
1 cup of sugar
1 egg
half a cup of butter
2 cups of flour
1 tsp of baking powder and baking soda
pinch of salt
half a cup chocolate chip add more if love chocolate try not to add to much takes away from the taste of the bananas
Mix all ingredients together and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes, and turn oven down to 250 degrees and cook 10 more minutes
If you want to leave out the chocolate chips do so it will be just a banana type bread which is delicious too.

Here is my recipe for the Perfect no-bake

2 cups of sugar
3 tablespoons of cocoa powder
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup butter
mix all ingredients together all ingredients will melt down to liquid looks like chocolate syrup let come to a rapid boiler once boiling heavily I count to 10 and take off burner
add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1/2 cup peanut butter
2 and 1/2 cups of quick oats make sure they are quick oats
stir well and take spoonful of cookie mix( will be runny slightly) and place on aluminum foil until set
I Love these cookies and all my family and extended family do too:)
I do always use name brand peanut butter like Jif and sugar(Domino)
and cocoa is name brand too Hersheys or Nestle the oats I do use are generic because they really are that good and they sell them at the Dollar General store.

I have been so busy lately. With fireworks season and running the store which was an hour drive time there and an hour drive time home, and 10 hour working days for 14 days straight and even before that it was set up time, and now that it is finished. I am running 2 teens here and there, and everywhere...ugg...Well I am making a new recipe tomorrow which sounds really good and thought I will share its called a hashbrown omelet cassarole sounds sooo good. I will share about it tomorrow evening. I thought I would share some of my recipes with you all, from some past post, its the past revisited..lol...OK a lil silly I know...but here are some recipes for you..:)

Pizza Cassorole Yummy.....
Well, I must say this is my first post of a recipe... I made pizza cassarole which is really yummy........I forgot to take some pictures in between but what can I say I am new to the whole blogging, and learning:)
Pizza Cassarole
1. 1 pound of ground chuck- I went over a pound a lil
2. A half a bag of 16oz wide egg noodles
3. 2 small jars or cans of favorite pizza sauce or make
your own( I do quick way:))
4. Peppers and Onions diced( toppings u like optional
cooked sausage, bacon, ham, etc.)
5. 1 bag of 16oz mozz. cheese
6. 1 small pack of pepperoni
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Fry hamburger and boil noodles, I added peppers and onion diced to meat mixture as it was frying, and boiled my egg noodles. Of course drain both items as they are fully cooked, start layering part. Put egg noodles down in cassarole dish, poor meat mixture over noodles, also any other toppings you may want to add that you cooked,like chopped bacon or sausage, ham pour some pizza sauce over the meat mixture or any topping you have added over meat mixture, add cheese and pepperoni, and then repeat the same layer. Bake at 350 for about 30- 40 minutes depending on how dark you like your cheese on top.

Cherry Square Sponge Cake
I made some Cherry Squares and were they ever good.....You can make them with blueberry,apple,etc filling and its quick and easy to make. Very few ingredients.
Cherry Square Sponge Cake
take 2 sticks of blue bonnett butter, (I bake alot with it, and is my favorite) but you could use any oleo you want.

1 and a half cups of regular sugar

take butter and sugar and mix well with mixer

then add 4 eggs adding 1 at a time, until light and fluffy

after done mixing in eggs add 1 tablespoon of vanilla and mix

then add 2 cups of flower mixing in flour a lil at a time, it will look like cake batter smooth

take batter and spread on your greased and floured pan like a long cookie sheet this cake is made thinner and does not rise like regular cake

after spread out take a knife and mark 4 rows down and 5 rows across to measure out, take pie filling and add into the center of each square

bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes lil longer depending on your stove

when they come out of oven sprinkle powder sugar on them, cut into squares and wrap with clear wrap when cool.

Easy Meatloaf Recipe
I was thinking of what to make for supper yesterday, so I thought I got some things on hand, I will throw together a meatloaf, nothing fancy, just plain ole meatloaf, I don't get into all the fancy items one may put in there meatloaf. I stick to the basic and with 2 picky teens nothing fancy is just what they like, they seem to love my basic meatloaf. So I think I will stick to my basic easy meatloaf, as it is a hit with my family.:)

Basic Easy Meatloaf

2 and half pds lean ground beef

small pepper and some onion (depending on how much you like)

2 eggs

1 package ( as in package I mean 1 of the 4 that come in the box) of regular saltine crackers adding a few more if necessary-I have used Ritz crackers too and that is also good

ketchup after I have my mixture mix together I add ketchup and mix it in too

After you place in pan form out your meatloaf mixture, I use baking pan not loaf pans thats just me I then add bacon on top (optional)

You can add strips of bacon on top to flavor into your meatloaf, however I did not have any when making my meatloaf this time so I had to pass by that ingredient this time

So I take my meat, pepper, onion mix together then add crackers and mix together, and eggs and mix, and then pour ketchup all over top, mix together. After you put in your baking pan and form your meatloaf add a lil ketch up on top. Bacon too if you have it :) I also add ketch up after it is done cooking on top our family likes ketchup on everything, and serve

Trust me your hands will be messy all through this recipe..:)

Bake at 350, for about 2 hours, depending on your stove.

There you have it my quick, throw together meatloaf I made, nothing fancy, but it sure was good.

Easy Crescent Rolls Smore Muffins YUM!!!:)
I made these last night and they were a huge hit with the family. I thought I would share the recipe and some pictures.

Smore Crescent Roll Muffins

2 cans of crescent rolls

16 large marshmallow

2-3 milk chocolate bars( Hershey)

half cup butter

1 package graham crackers (crushed)

Put 1 marshmallow on the shortest side of crescent roll triangle and top 2 pieces of chocolate bar on top marshmallow, start with shortest side and roll fold corners of dough over chocolate and marshmallow,pinch dough to seal. Make sure the marshmallow and chocolate are completely covered by the dough and that it is sealed. Dip the dough which will resemble an odd shaped ball with butter or brush with butter, and roll in graham cracker crumbs to coat. Makes 16 smore muffins

Place in greased muffin cups at 375 degrees for 15-18 minutes or golden brown, serve warm. Make sure to put muffin cups on cookie sheet:)They look like a graham cracker muffin but the surprise inside o so good..:)

Vanilla/Chocolate Chip Cake Mix Cookies
Mix:
1 box vanilla cake mix
2 eggs
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tbsp of water
mix top 4 ingredients together then add
half a bag of semi sweet chocolate morsels
Preheat oven to 350' place cookie batter in rounded teaspoon full on ungreased cookie sheet
Bake for 9 minutes, everyones stove are a lil different so just check:)

I have won several items through blogging, and don't get me wrong...I think its great that blogs give away to their followers so many GREAT prizes, its great for the sponsor that sponsors the prize, and the blog itself to get new followers. I LOVE entering giveaways, and get all giddy when I win. Then I wait anxiuosly to receive my prize.......and wait........and wait....... 2 months on 1 prize and 6 weeks on another, a month on another. They are usually handmade things, well it seems lately I have waited for several items a couple in fact that have never sent their prize in months. I take the time follow there blog, and LOVE their blogs, and they never send the prize, maybe since they are a big blog, they feel they don't have to send there prize, I don't know...ummm ok... well these couple blogs are bigger blogs, and they are well known, and it upsets me, and is NOT right!! When I giveaway on my blog, as you might know, I give away gift cards, and I sponsor all my prizes. I send out immediately. These are my followers that have won, and I value them and appreciate them following me, it means something so much to me:) I don't know...I am not trying to be rude, and if it comes off that way I am truely sorry, but this is how I feel........... I am back after a long almost 2 week break from blogging. I had to work at my brothers firework store every day 13 days straight no days off, and 10-13 hour days. I am so tired, and so behind on cleaning the house. I went grocery shopping today we had no food left literally, with me working at the store, hubby working his regular job then going to the fireworks store to help out there was No time to do or get anything. My mother in law helped make sure kids got to were they needed to go as far as open gyms, son had a basketball camp, daughter had volleyball. I am thankful we are back to bein a regular family again:) I got caught up on some house work today, got some grocery shopping done, and went to library to return some over due items..lol..that I forgot about too:) I am glad to be bloggin again:) I So Missed All My Bloggin FRIENDS!!

I just wanted to do a quick post this morning before I head out to my new home, the fireworks store. I work for my brother during this time, he runs several fireworks stores here in Ohio. Some of his stores are open year round some just a few weeks before the 4th. The madness has begun, and I wanted to tell my fellow bloggin friends the lack of posts there will be in these next few weeks, as 12-14 hour days of work will consume ALL my time, and still maintain running 2 teenagers to open gyms, and practices for volleyball, and basketball, plus my son is working too, so my schedule is pure crazziness. Should make for some interesting weeks..lol...uggg.. Well I hope to have some interesting stories to share, customers usually make for some interesting stories..:)I will miss the bloggin though, as I miss reading all my favorite blogs, but I hope to catch up for a few minutes late in the evening. I was watching HGTV the other night, and looking at houses,being redone, or getting a free contractor to make over their house, and well I got a lil envious and I realized I really shouldn't feel this way, but I did and we are suppose to be happy with what we have. I know I should be happy with my drabby checkerboard kitchen..well...uggg!!!The checkerboard floor, and tile. I love looking at other peoples homes here in blog world, people really do have beautiful kitchens and beautiful homes. I love seeing transformations of kitchens, so many gorgeous ones at that. Well, I wish I could wave a magic wand and make mine redone!! I probebly am not the only stay at home mom who love to have a redo in her kitchen but I often laugh at some of the redos here on blogs because the beginning of there kitchen before the redo is just as nice, I just wish mine looked like some of the before pictures on some of these ppls blog pictures..lol.. Well anyways like my hubby said some of these ppls house payments are $700-1500 a month or more, and our house payment is only $429 and will be paid off in a few years, so I can't complain..of course its small, but I bet alot are in debt up to their eyeballs just to have a fancy kitchen, or a house to WOW everyone!! I thought long and hard and realized material things are not gonna go with you when you leave this earth, God does not care about what house you live in, or a kitchen redo, and you know what...I SNAPPED right out of my envious stage....Be happy with what you have, and happy for what others have, and do not be envious of others, so that I will keep in mind when I see all that I would love to have. I recently was given a chair by a relative, and I LOVE it I seen the potential, I fell in love with the legs of the chair. I had never seen anything like the legs on this chair. Well it was sanded down and 2 coats of black paint( which I got from the free quart giveaway through the Glidden paint giveaway) were applied. I found this beautiful material at Jo Ann fabrics for 5.99 a yard and only needed 3/4 a yard to cover the ugly brown vinyl cover that was on it. I also just bought some plain white muslin to put down first on the seat cushion before placing the material on. Total cost of materil was around 5.00 the muslin was really cheap:)I used the white muslin so that you will not see anything coming through just by placing the printed material on I used the white first. I LOVE how it turned out:) I placed my new pillow cover I won from BEI FIORA facebook fan giveaway on my chair. It is done, and I LOVE it:)Here are the picture. My first attempt at making posie pillow cases:)

Ok, Ok, they are almost complete I have not added the buttons yet, I am not sure if that is what I want to do, still on the fence. You may remember me talkin about these pillow cases in past post, that I was almost done, they were taking a lot longer than I ever thought, it was one of my first attempts to try something sewing wise on my own. NOTE its hard to see some of the posies because Like on the pink case You can see the white posies but not the pink ones they are on there too, but NOTE to self don't use left over material in same color as pillow cover for posies:( I did same with cream colored ones the pink posies show up well but the other posies are left over of same material as what the pillowcases were made of. O' Well they are something I am very proud of, it has taken forever, and I was about to give up, and then Roys grandma help me some to the posies were taking me forever, because I have never made before:) The pinning on the posies I finallly got done, and with the help of grandma could properly place them and stitch on. There are flaws in them, my sewing is not the best, and using a sewing machine to make the covers was a funny sight, as the last time I used a sewing machine was 7th grade Home Ec class:) Well, here they are finished, just need to decide if I want to add buttons, which I think I am gonna try to find some pearlized looking buttons. I shared last week about the garden angel that my husbands grandmother made me, well she is 80 years old, and amazes me at the things she makes. I wanted to share with you the seat cushions she made for me, all hand crochet, and she is still a making even at her age. No offence grandma Marion:) The cushions are reversable, and twon different colors, they are a lil small for my chairs but I LOVE them, and there wasn't NO WAY I was gonna say they were to small. They fit almost to the size. Her hands do bother her so she doesn't do as much as she use too:( I just wanted to share the seat cushions with you. I have some bears she made from my husbands army uniforn, and the underpart of my wedding dress(so it didn't ruin my wedding dress) She made from the uniform he wore on our wedding day and the under silk of my wedding dress, they are the cutest bears:)all made from our wedding day attire. We have been married 17 years next week June 11th. She has also made a large raggedy ann doll, several other items, I would like to do post on all the items she has made through the weeks here on my blog. Easy 3 ingredient peanut butter fudge balls&bars Yummy!!!

I make these all the time for the kids easy peanut butter fudge balls&bars:) They only require 3 ingredients and so simple to make I have made them for years. They were my late grandpas favorite. I use to make them for him he just loved them, he was a peanut butter LOVER:)I miss him so much, he has been gone almost 3 months now, and it seems to be getting easier but he is still always thought of, and I have him tucked away here in my heart. The recipe is as follows..

2 sticks of butter- I use blue bonnett,its my favorite for baking
3/4 a jar of peanut butter-jif is my next favorite
and a pound of powdered sugar(slightly more if needed)
I put the butter and peanut butter in large pan and stir until completely liquid form and o let me tell you the smell.. YUMMY:)
allow to boil when I say boil I mean it will start to pop and be careful it will pop peanut butter on you sometimes..lol..
I stir and let it slightly pop(aka slightly pop boil)
remove from heat and add the pound of powder sugar slightly over if needed it will look someone like a peanut butter cookie recipe after stir with powdered sugar
MAKE INTO BALLS OR POUR INTO SMALL PAN TO MAKE BARS
IT IS VERY GREASY LOOKING!!!THATS FROM THE BUTTER AND PEANUT BUTTER MIXING TOGETHER, HEY ITS FATTENING SO THAT GREASY LOOK GOES AWAY AS SOON AS YOU LET IT SET UP IN FRIDGE FOR AN HOUR OR LIL LONGER!!
after the are firm, the greasy look will be gone after they harden, remove from fridge. Place semi sweet mini chocolate chips in a bowl and melt in microwave untill completely melted and add chocolate drizzles on the balls and bars, I added drizzle on my balls and a chocolate layer on top my bars.
put back in fridge to harden chocolate and ta-da it is done, an easy 3 ingredient peanut butter idea, NOW I AM SURE YOU WILL SAY THIS IS A 4 INGREDIENT THAT IS IF YOU DECIDE TO ADD THE CHOCOLATE, AND THAT IS UP TO YOU:)

Memorial Day Jello Cake..YUMMY!!!

Morning Blogging Friends:) I just wanted to take this time to wish everyone a Happy Memorial Day, and to remember to honor all who have served for OUR GREAT COUNTRY!! I know we will be flying out flag, and saying a prayer for all our men and women in service, and the fallen soilders. My husband served 6 years active Army, and 2 national guard. I know what its like to be a military wife, and to have young children, it is hard, but I was always and still am proud of my husband. He and I stuck it out for 8 years military life. We have our best memories in the military:) And some of our hardest and saddest memories in the miltary, but it all made us stronger. I THANK all serving now, and in the past, soilders who have gone to heaven to be with Our Lord as a fallen HERO, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I wanted to share a cake I made in honor of Memorial Day. Its a strawberry jello cake, and I added some blueberries and fresh cut strawberries to resemble a flag design on top. I know the colors are not where they should be on a traditional flag, but I like the design all the same:)

Flag Jello Cake

1 box yellow cake mix(make cake mix according to the package)
after cake is cooled poke several holes in it using a fork
Take one small package of jello mix and make it according to the box( you may use any flavor, but I used strawberry to go with the stawberries on the theme of my cake)
pour liguid jello mixture over cake
then place in fridge for a few hours
add almost 1 tub of cool whip( depending on how thick you want the cool whip on your cake)
add fresh fruit in my case strawberries and blueberries I made in a flag design this time but I usually just add strawberries on top or blueberries any fruit that goes with your jello flavoring would be the best
be sure to leave your cake in the fridge keep it cool when not eating:)
All this is great cake, hope you enjoy:)YUMMY!!!

Hello, I just wanted to share with you my goodies from yard sales today. I found a cute picture, some bath and body works, some new candles, including a yankee, a cute fall primitive picture, a cake pan (brand new) 2 longaberger baskets 5.00 each,a huge wall clock, a few lil primitive goodies too. I will be sharing with you a quick and easy fudge ball recipe, seriuosly 4 items, and they are so good:) I promise my daughter we make them tonight or tomorrow, she will eat them all:) I also am making a cake for the memorial weekend, its kinda cool, so check back for some more great post. O' yeah my posie pillows I keep talkin about are done I just have to add some buttons. I want to get them done. I have been so side tracked, and to be honest it fustrated me, I am not a gal who can sew, but I keep trying, and when I mess up I fix, and repeat, O' I think I was meant to NOT sew:) I am quite proud of them, just want to show you them complete with buttons and minimal flaws:) I doubt you all will laugh at them, but I might:)

I LOVE this she is so cute. My husband's grandmother is quite a crafter, and is 80 years old. She made this angel for me and some other family members. I thought I would share her crafty work with you today. Its called a gardening angel, she amazes me what work she can do at her age. She is the best cook too, and has the biggest loving heart:) I have learned many things from her,including some recipes:) and she is a fine Christian woman. She has made many things for me over the 17 years I have been married to my husband. I will show you in the coming weeks some of the things she has made for me and my family, she will amaze you too. I just had to share this doll with you, and a little about the amazing woman who made it:)

Yard Sale Finds from this weekend

Well, another weekend of yard sales:) LOVE EM!!! I got a few things this weekend. I got my daughter some clothes, tank tops, shorts, really nice and name brand, just wash them, and I am sooo pleased she actually LIKED them:) I just wanted to show you a few things I got this weekend with some pictures. I LOVE my new bedspread I got and matching primitive crow pillow,lol...its cute, The bedspread and I got shams too but right now I do not have them on the bed, was new in package. I washed and pressed the bedspread yesterday, and is now on me bed. I LOVE IT !!!I wanna keep a primitive look in some parts of our home, bedroom is one of them. I got a digital picture frame, a light, picture, a outside table,a used computer chair as my son broke our other one I told hubby I will wait for yard sale time and I'll get one I always see used ones, and low and behold I found one:) and a stand in process of being painted lol..can see that in picture below, 2 cute throw rugs for 3.00 each they are primitive, a star box, and other goodies. I won the Eisy Morgan Birthday Bash Grand prize, which was so many exciting things, credits to etsy stores(which I got a cool purse with 1 of the credits) hand repair cream, a Birthday countdown, wallet, a wood sign with my last name, and so much more and that was all from the Eisy Morgan giveaway, I have won other things too like the propel gift set from Carolina Couponer(still waiting on that prize) I just won a pampered chef retangler baking dish last week, and just found out today I won a $35 etsy credit towards another store because I won a giveaway over at Style n' Decor Deals. I think I might be on a tiny WIN streak. I can't tell you how happy I am to have received and won these GREAT prizes. Some prizes are not pictured yet, but when I recieve more I'll show ya:) I LOVE blogging, and LOVE entering giveaways:) Really is sooo much fun!!!

I also have a cookie recipe for ya, I know everyones had no-bakes, well my family swears mine are the best, they say they are not runny or hard as a brick..lol... I quess I take that as a compliment..lol... Well anyways I made some today... Here is my recipe for the Perfect no-bake

2 cups of sugar
3 tablespoons of cocoa powder
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup butter
mix all ingredients together all ingredients will melt down to liquid looks like chocolate syrup let come to a rapid boiler once boiling heavily I count to 10 and take off burner
add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1/2 cup peanut butter
2 and 1/2 cups of quick oats make sure they are quick oats
stir well and take spoonful of cookie mix( will be runny slightly) and place on aluminum foil until set
I Love these cookies and all my family and extended family do too:)
I do always use name brand peanut butter like Jif and sugar(Domino)
and cocoa is name brand too Hersheys or Nestle the oats I do use are generic because they really are that good and they sell them at the Dollar General store.Well thanks for stopping by today as always please follow along, I love to have you, and refer a friend to my blog:)

Primitive White Bench

I wanted to share with you the bench I have had for awhile now that was picked up at a yard sale for 5.00. I have it outside my home, and I love it. It has the distress look and I love that too. It shows you can find so many neat items CHEAP at yard sales. Alot of my items outside items even for seasonal display or my inside home decor items come from yard sales. I love finding those bargains and re-doing an item or finding nice gently used name brand clothing for a huge FRACTION of what you pay at the store. My family and friends know me as the yard sale queen. I get I can't believe you got that at a yard sale alot, but I did. I recently scored some great finds at yard sales lately. Well I decided to take my finds and put them to use. I made some bucket arrangements with some wood flowers, all second hand and put together by me and I think they turned out sooooooo cute:) Take a look at the pictures and be sure to follow along with me and my lil ole blog, I love sharing ideas, and making new friends in blog world. Wood Organizer redo:)

I recently bought a wood organizer at a yard sale. It was just a plain wood organizer so I decided to paint it, and add some fabric. I found a table cloth also at a yard sale, and LOVED the design. So I cut some of it out and placed in the side of the organizer, and cut some birds and glued on too. The material is placed over a cork board area, that I can hang things on and still see the pattern. I wanted to share a recipe with you all for some chocolate chip banana bread, my family loves. Before I do I just want to remind you of the giveaway that will end on May 15th at midnight for a $25 POTTERYBARN gift card be sure to find my post on that prize, and sign up. I have lots to share with you this week, I made some posie pillow covers, not the best but I did put in a good effort at this sewing project with help, lol, I will be sharing those, and some cute primitive flower buckets I put together, and I want to share about my upcoming yard sale this Thursday and Friday:) I hope you will come back, be sure to follow along, and will have lots of fun, sharing ideas in blog world together:)

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread
3 large bananas smashed
1 cup of sugar
1 egg
half a cup of butter
2 cups of flour
1 tsp of baking powder and baking soda
pinch of salt
half a cup chocolate chip add more if love chocolate try not to add to much takes away from the taste of the bananas
Mix all ingredients together and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes, and turn oven down to 250 degrees and cook 10 more minutes
If you want to leave out the chocolate chips do so it will be just a banana type bread which is delicious too.

Yard Sale Finds Galore:)

MY O MY what a great weekend for some good yard sales. I got some great buys this weekend, I got primitive items, clothes, purses, so much for myself and items for family members.I lOVE yard sales:) There was a community one in a nearby town on Friday and Saturday. People were everywhere traffic and cars GALORE:) I was happy to say I had no accidents. There were a few fender benders though, and thats from lack of space, and ppl not wanting to WALK!!! I enclosed some pictures of my finds. I got so much to share with you this week, from chocolate chip banana bread, to the wall organizer I completed, to some pretty pink posie pillow covers that are complete, and o so much, so come back tomorrow when I share some more with you all, and follow along. Chalk Boards I made:)

I think these turned out so cute. I made these little chalk boards:) I took 2 pieces of wood, and spray painted them a yellow, Added 3 coats of chalk board paint, waiting for each coat to dry before adding another coat. I then took some foamy 3-D pattern flowers and put on the boards they are just foam stickers you can pick up at any craft store. I had a posie trip I added to the one board. I painted one board completely and the other board just a lil over half. I took somw hite ribbon and stapled to the board for hanging. TA_DA they are complete:) I love how they turned out!!Here is some pictures, I hope you like too. I just wanted to share some pictures of the baby shower I hosted with my mother in law this past Saturday. I am going to be an aunt again to a lil girl that is gonna be named Catherine:) We tried to have a simple little shower, it was just for close family. Well we played games, ate, and she opened her gifts. I love our lil theme she is doing the baby's room in winnie the pooh, so I pulled together some baby decorations with the theme of POOH which let me tell you was HARD to find, thanks to e-bay. I found the baby shower pooh banners, and ballons online, and if you can see in the pictures I found some POOH lanterns at Family Dollar, they were so cute. My centerpieces were made from lil buckets that were at KMart for Easter time, they were very springy and had POOH on them, can you say I screamed when I found them, because I wasn't for sure what kind of centerpieces I would use. I planted a marigold in the buckets. They turned out really cute.!!!I put pastel(varied scents) YANKEE candles in front of each place setting. The cupcakes were made from a local bakery and cookies too, all pastel colors. it was a nice shower, and very affordable. My mother in law was in charge of food, and I did the rest. We had chicken and ham salad, veg tray, fruit tray, pasta salad, macaroni salad, punch, cookies, cupcakes, mints, peanuts. Needless to say we had plenty and I was over stuffed, as usual nothing new in that area:) Well anyways... she got some great presents, and it was a great day for Jessie and her soon to be baby girl, and a great day for family to be together. Coffee table/painted living room/giveaway:)

Hi fellow bloggers busy weekend for me, should be at church this morning, hubby had to work helping my brother unload fireworks at the store from a container. My brother runs a fireworks store here in Ohio, its open year round, and hubby, and I are getting towards the season where our life is like a rollar coaster for about 6 weeks:)He works his regular 40+ hour job and then he will work for my brother upwards of 20-25 hours a week, he does a lot of traveling for the promotional part of fireworks season, I will work this year I have in past years but last year I could not. I have always filled in during the year when they need someone. Well anyways this is not the topic of my post.... I well my hubby did most of helping me redo my grandpas coffee table, the wood of it was difficult. We sanded it and spray painted, and then applied a semi gloss paint finish to it. I think it turned out beautiful.:) I was gonna sand paper it and give it the distress look but, I just wanted it to look, clean, and fresh, and that it does even though its BLACK:)I just put it upstairs last night we finished painting our living room and it really looked nice. I enclosed a picture....or two....

Like I said it was a pretty busy weekend and still is as its just early Sunday morning, my hubby had Friday off and we started the task of long hours of prepping, removing border,filling on minor holes and cracks in plaster and sanding, and painting my living room yes the YELLOW I had mentioned before. Well it is quite yellow, and I have been busy with that this weekend, plus I had a baby shower to get ready for and decorate, a small intimate shower for family, for my soon to be niece that will be arriving in May. I felt my mother in law and I did well and stuck to a well maintained budget. I did the decorating, bought the supplies, did the games, and prizes. She handle the food part which was EXCELLENT!! I will share about that later this week on a post. But back to the painting here is a couple before and afters of living room. It took awhile, almost 2 full days LONG DAYS!! Credit to my hubby he took on alot more cause I had to prep plus host a baby shower.I also was trying to paint some accesories for my wall I am doing a lot of black access, so daughter and I hauled out some spray paint and painted some accesories that will soon be in new painted living room.

Trees, basket, and projects:)

Hi, I have been a lil busy this week. I have had so much going on, but I didn't want the followers I do have be gone in blogland:) I have had comments about the trees in my header of my blog. YES that is my little brick house, and those trees are mine:) I have had people ask what kind of trees are those, and I only know that the large one in front is a weeping willow tree( I hope that how you spell it) The others I am unsure of. They are sooo beautiful when they bloom, but its is only a few weeks out of the whole year that you get to enjoy it. With the storms that have gone through even less this year, as the blooms are being blown away :( I thought I share some pictures I wish I would have done it sooner because a lot of the blooms are gone.

I also have been working on a few projects, I just finished spray painting the large basket I picked up at a yard sale, I shared those bargains with you on a post awhile back, well I have it painted:) Take a look...

I also started painting my little memo board/chalkboards I am making. I got the yellow paint( from the valspar free sample giveaway on valspar paint) on them and getting ready to paint with the chalkboard paint, and then decorate them. I will have them finished soon so be sure and come back and look at the finish project.

I also picked up this organizer at the same yard sale I got the basket from picture above, well I plan to paint, and use some material to brighten it up and give it a modern/floral look :)

Last but not least I got the coffee table I got from my grandpas house after he passed away of lung cancer in March finished. With the hard work of my helper, my hubby. I so wanted it to turn out nice, I debated on what to paint it, and I am wanting to paint my living room light yellow, and have modern wrought iron and accents of black. So I painted it black, yes black, I thought about it as maybe doing white, but I really won't have any white accents and if I do it would be so minimal. Here is the descrpition of what she is givin away!!!:)I ( Becky) giving away this little quilt & a sewing pocket dolly (dolly pattern by Barefoot Primitives).The little quilt is 10 x14 and is made up of 25 different fabric squares. The border is tan & the binding is blace. It has been tea stained.The dolly is about 9 inches long & is made from tea stained muslin. Her dress is navy blue & has a wool stitched on heart.
